Our garage door had a number of issues and needed an overhaul. It also had a safety sensor issue that was preventing the door from closing. I called Precision late in the afternoon and was able to get an appointment first thing the next day. Max showed up right on time and went right to work. Straightening the rails, new rollers, new springs, etc. Then came the sensor issue. He aligned them both, the lights were on as they should be, and sometimes the garage would close, sometimes it wouldn't. He checked every inch of the wiring, and it was fine. Eventually, he found a possible fault in one of the sensors and replaced it. The same problem persisted. Sometimes the door would close, sometimes it wouldn't. He ended up calling Lift Master, and it turns out that on my particular model you cannot just change one of the safety sensors, you have to change both. So, after he changed the second one, it works perfectly. The dedication and professionalism Max displayed in determining the resolution to this problem was top notch, as was his work on the overhaul. I cannot thank him enough for a job well done.

Called Precision to have a repair done on my garage door. Was able to get an appointment the next day. The tech, Kevin, called to give me an ETA. He was on time and gave me a few options on the repair. I decide to also have a new garage door opener installed. Kevin did a great job on the installation and repair. Now I have a very quite and garage door when opening and closing.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Precision Door. My springs broke just this morning and Precision had a technician to my house before lunch. My technician, Corey Selkregg, was on time, thorough and very knowledgeable; not to mention probably the most polite and courteous repair technician I have ever worked with. I'm truly impressed. When I called, I described the problem, and was quoted a price based on my description. When the technician arrived, he discovered that the issue was not as a I described, but that the spring holding the band in place had not been installed (at all?). He charged me only for the visit, fixed the spring AND also put a new light bulb in for me because it was too high for me to reach.

My garage door opener only needed a $15 part replaced. Precision was only interested in selling me a new garage door opener. I ordered the part online and replaced myself in under 30 mins. Feels as though I paid $125 for a sales pitch.

Good morning. I think the technicians and the customer support was easy to work with. However, when I called the HQ call center they were not helpful with pricing and/or warranty - they stated the technician would be able to provide those details. Those items should be clearly communicated on your website. Also, I was expecting a local Loudoun county or NOVA technician - paying $125 trip charge is ridiculous and the amount of time to fix the door was less than an hour for $540 total - worse I had to pay extra ($40)for having the door lubed and checked. I doubt I will refer anyone I know back to Precision due to the overall cost.

I called Precision this morning from work hoping to have my garage door fixed today. The person on the phone was very nice and accommodating. After speaking with to the receptionist I knew the price was a little high but it seemed as though the company was one worth working with. When the technician showed up he tried to up sell my wife to the price point of over 3 times that of which was discussed on the phone. She called me at work and spoke with the technician and the price came down about 30%. Still 2 times the amount discussed. It is unfortunate that companies feel they can take advantage of people in this manner. I do know the cost of this job. I was at work and wanted to get the job done. I was willing to pay for that convenience of the work done. I was not willing to be taken advantage of. The technician also tried to tell my wife how our house is not safe. This tactic is not acceptable. My house is safe. The garage doors have been working fine. I had to pay a high price for this unfortunate experience. I will not make this mistake again.

Mr. Leaf, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. On 1/27/15 you called Precision Door to request a technician come to your home as you had a broken spring on your garage door. We sent our technician out right away. Upon arrival the technician performed a 25-point inspection on your 3 Garage Doors and Openers. After the thorough inspection it was determined on Invoice #80428 that the following problems were found with your doors. Door #1 had a broken extension spring, frayed lift cables as well as safety cables that were not secured as recommended by the manufacturer. Door #2 was unbalanced, had frayed lift cables and the safety cables were not secured properly. Door #3 was unbalanced due to fatigued extension springs, frayed cables and extension safety cables that were also not properly secured. At that point Ms. Leaf understood and wanted to go ahead and have the doors repaired but of course wanted to speak with you first. When speaking with the technician regarding the prices and how they were more than you wanted to spend, or thought they should be, the technician gave you other options for only having partial repairs done; explaining the drop in price. Accordingly, Being a licensed contractor that specializes in safe garage door repair we follow both the DASMA and IDA recommendations for repairs and procedures; anything that can present a possible hazard such as the items listed above cannot be ignored. We install our products in accordance with specific installation instructions provided by the manufacturer. The Federal Register states by the Secretary of the Consumer Product Safety Commission “Keep Garage Door Properly Balance. See owner’s manual. An improperly balanced door could cause severe injury or death. Have a qualified service person make repairs to cables, spring assemblies and other hardware” We would love for you to give us a chance to fix your door in a safe and proper manner and would be willing to waive the service fee ($125 value) to return to your home in 2015 should you decide to have us do the work on your doors. We worked with Matt to replace our garage door openers. He did an excellent job and worked in cold weather to finish the job. He answered all our questions throughout (before, during, and after) and explained the entire process, features, and additional accessories for the opener. Matt provided exceptional customer service, he was professional, and understanding of our needs. Matt and Anna helped us schedule the appointment at our earliest availability and offered a great deal. We received another offer which was couple hundred dollars lower but we went with Precision Door for their customer service and transparency into solution for us to meet our needs. Arrived when promised and I told the technician Kevin the problem along with a short history of the garage door not being used for twelve years. He explained what he needed to do and I agreed and after installing a new spring ask me for the owners manual and made all the fine tuning adjustments. Works better then ever...and no more "jumping" when you hit hit the open button. Terrific job!
