I called Precision yesterday just to inquire about the issues I was experiencing with my garage door. To my surprise, the representative was able to schedule an appointment for today. Matt arrived as scheduled and assessed the issues. He provided a fair quote and told me he could do the repairs right there on the spot. Barely one hour later, he replaced and repaired the springs and fixed all the other issues with no hassle to me, no missed work, and a garage door that’s as quiet as the first day it was installed. I had new springs installed 18 months ago and had a cable break recently. Certify insisted that they had to replace the 18 month old springs with new ones, which I find hard to believe. As a result my bill was double what it should have been. I do not recommend this company.
Hello Mr. Kerins- We are sorry to hear the disappointment with your experience. Our goal each day with every customer is to repair a garage door properly and safely. I left you a voicemail and text message in hopes of discussing your issues and concerns, but unfortunately I have not heard back from you. This is the first time we have been to your residence, as another company provided the service work 18 months ago. Therefore, we do not know if you had the correct springs installed, the quality of the springs, and whether they were even new springs. The longevity of a spring is determined by the cycle life. The more you use your garage door, the sooner you are going to need new springs. Please know, 18 months ago, torsion springs were 1/3 the cost of what they are today. When your technician arrived this morning, your door was racked which is the most dangerous position a garage door can be. Part of your invoice today was the fee for the technician to bring your down into the safe position to be worked on. We recommend new parts that properly work together. We do not wind and unwind springs, according to insurance regulations. We do not provide “band-aide” repairs, as the safety of our customers, as well as our technicians, is top priority. The good news is that you called on the 4th of July holiday and we arrived the following morning to service your door. Your technician is knowledgeable, experienced, and walked you through recommended options that would address all the issues identified in the inspection report. Fast and wonderful service!!!! Our wall console for the garage door opener stopped working. Remotes worked, but not the wall console. Being the weekend, I thought it would be tough to find some weekend. Precision was! Gave them a call, told them my problem - they said they would a technician that afternoon. Patrick, the tech, called and asked if he could come early. Super. Arrived ahead of time, located the problem and fixed.Pat was very kind and helpful. Price was about what I would expect based on similar work we have done but the work and timing was outstanding. Would recommend to anyone. THANK YOU!

I give Precision Garage Doors a 5 Star. I called another company and no one answer and I had to leave a voicemail. When I need something I want to talk to someone right away. I then called Precision Garage Doors and a lady answered the phone and answered all my questions. She scheduled me an appointment for the next morning from 9-11 and the technician called me around 9:00am and said he would be at my house in 10 mins. Now that is SERVICE! I would highly recommend Precision Garage Doors.

Internet search and there was a Prince William County number. I was surprised that even though there are these numbers that the office and techs still come from Fredericksburg. That is along haul out to other Northern VA areas especially early on weekdays. You should consider adding a location closer to the McLean / Fairfax area is my guess. Everything was great however. No issues. Jon did a great job, he communicated his arrival time in advance, and he did a full inspection of the door even though I was just replacing the key pad.

Our tension spring broke on a Saturday afternoon. Precision was able to accommodate an appointment the same day within 3hrs! Awesome for a Saturday! Garage opener needed a new board as it was fried from recent storm. Your service man recommended the Woods Surge Protector for protection so I purchased one directly from you all for $25. I wanted to get another one for another location through Home Depot for $5 (discovered later). Why such a markup on the price? I think the service and guys were very good. Didn't like the markup price on the surge protector for the opener.

My garage door was builders grade and split in the middle. Set-up appointment and they were right on time. The technician (Matthew) was right on time and was very knowledgeable. After providing the options for repair I elected to purchase a Heritage Garage Door. They said three weeks for delivery but it was installed in two weeks. Matthew was very professional and installed the door with great care. He was here for 6 hours and worked steady with no breaks. He made sure every aspect of the install was working optimally before leaving. After researching replacement doors at Lowe's this was a much better choice. The door was pricey but top of the line! The price of the Lowe's door was $1800 plus $500 for install fee and limited warranty. The Heritage door was $2400 including install fee $85 and a lifetime warranty for the door and hardware. The Heritage door is made of 24 gage steel front/back with insulating foam in between. It's wind rated and requires no additional bracing like the Lowe's brand door. All in all experience was very good. Would definitely recommend this company for those in need of basic repair to a complete garage door set-up! Matthew did a great job!

Although satisfied with the work performed, I was completely unsatisfied with the timeliness of my appointment. I was given a time frame of 1-4 p.m. I got a call that the technician would arrive closer to the 4 p.m. time. He finally arrived at 5:20 p.m. and I had to cancel a personal appointment due to the delay.
